Idaho Sesquicentennial Special License Plate

Posted on July 5, 2012 at 4:57 PM by Jacqui Gilbert

Monday July 2nd, 2012 the Idaho Sesquicentennial Special License Plate will go on sale in every County Motor Vehicle Registration and Licensing office in Idaho.  Revenues derived from the sale of these special plates will go to every County's Historical Society or designated entities in the State of Idaho.  For those in Nez Perce County the revenues will be equally shared between the Nez Perce County Historical Society and the Lewiston Preservation Commission.

The cost of the special license plate will be $35 plus normal registration fees.  Don't have a vehicle? a special sample plate is available at $30 that you can have as a keepsake.

For those who are wishing to swap their existing license plate with the special license plate, be sure to ask for and receive credit for the remaining months you have left on your current license when applying for the Idaho Sesquicentennial License Plate.

This has been the hard work and efforts of the Lewiston Historic Preservation Commission, in particular Commissioner John Mock and his wife Melba Mock along with all Idaho Legislators, Governor and staff that supported the Idaho Sesquicentennial Special License Plate Bill.
