Temporary Vendor

"Temporary vendor" means the operation of a business on a vacant lot, outside of an enclosed building in the open air or under a canopy, tent or other membrane structure. This does not include those businesses operating in the open air or under a canopy, tent or other membrane structure on the premises of another licensed business, which licensed business is operating in a building as defined by Lewiston City Code, or those businesses governed by section 37-127 of Lewiston City Code.

All temporary vendors are required to obtain a temporary vendor's business license prior to engaging in business within the city. Temporary vendors are limited to operation in the C-3, C-4, C-5, C-6, M-1, and M-2 zones as defined by the city's zoning ordinance and may not operate in any other zone within the city.

No temporary vendor shall conduct a business for more than sixteen (16) consecutive days and shall not conduct businesses for more than sixteen (16) days in any three-month period.
