Inclusive Recreation – Monthly Activities


Lewiston Parks and Recreation and Imagine Behavioral Services are teaming up to bring monthly activities. This
program is for all abilities to participate in an Inclusive recreation activity, also known as adaptive or accessible
recreation. Inclusive recreation is a concept whereby people with disabilities are given the opportunity to
participate in recreational activities.

Inclusive Recreation – Friday Night Dance


Lewiston Parks and Recreation, Disability Action Center (DAC), and SPARC are putting on a very special
dance. This super fun social event is ALL inclusive and is sure to be a blast. Costumes of any sort are encouraged
and there will be prizes and snacks.

University of Idaho Basketball Game


Join Lewiston Parks and Recreation as we cheer on the University of Idaho Men’s Basketball team. We will be
selling general admission tickets at a discount as the Vandals take on the Eastern Washington Eagles in Big West
play. Patrons will be responsible for transportation to and from the Kibbie Dome.

Corporate/Team Building


Lewiston Parks and Recreation is offering Corporate/Team Building to groups, agencies & businesses in the
LC Valley. We develop customized team building seminars that make a difference and create real change while
meeting your specific needs. Pricing is $300 for groups 5-25 $400 for groups 26-50 $500 for groups 51+
for up to 2 hours and $200 each additional hour. For more information, please call Recreation Supervisor

Youth Activities 

 

New Day! Messy Hands Preschool Art Class and Playtime

Messy Hands Preschool Art Class and Playtime is a fun introduction to art with your favorite little person
now on Mondays. All supplies are included. Projects vary from week to week and will be posted on Lewiston
Parks and Recreation Facebook page - www.facebook.com/lewistonparksrecreation. Following art, kids are
encouraged to play! This is a drop-in program.

New Day! Mommy and Me Playgroup

Lewiston Parks and Recreation will be continuing our super popular playgroup at the Lewiston Community
Center, now on Wednesdays. During this time, the children play together and learn invaluable social skills
while the parents can talk and provide much needed support for one another. Come join other parents from
the LC Valley! Parents must stay and play. This is a drop-in program.

New Kids and Forts

Come to the LCSC garden to design and create your dream fort! We will begin by building habitats for small
animals to hide in. Then, we will turn to designing spaces for people. Each student will build a small model
of their own dream structure. Also, as a group, we will build a life-sized play and demonstration fort in the
garden. Children will learn about camouflage and other strategies for survival, simple building techniques,
materials, tools, and teamwork. Pre-registration is required. Limited to first 24 registrations.

Little Artists in the Painting – Session 2 (6 Weeks)

Art Instructor Susan Pettit has a genuine passion for art and has taught children and adults art lessons over
the years. She looks forward to teaching the children how to create real art in a new and fresh way on their
level. At the end of the 6 weeks, the kids will be painting with acrylics on stretched canvas and their art will
be ready to hang on their home gallery walls. Pre-registration is required.

Home Wine Making Class - February


Learn to make wine like a pro – from a pro! Honey, fruit or grape wines anytime! Wine making is not
seasonal – make honey wine anytime. Use frozen berries or grape concentrate anytime. Learn from local
professional wine maker and receiver of the Idaho Winery of the Year Award in 2007. Materials will be given
out at the time of sign up. Pre-registration is required.

Get ready to hit the mountain again this upcoming ski season with Lewiston Parks and Recreation. We are
excited to continue this program to get all skill levels to and from the mountain for four days of riding. For

Walk Your Own Marathon


Sponsored by Lewiston Parks and Recreation Department this event is a fun and healthy way to kick off your
spring fitness program and enjoy the mini pathways of the Lewis-Clark Valley. If you are interested in an Ultra
Marathon (150 miles over a three-month period), this will also be available to you. We will supply you with a calendar
to keep track of your miles, and mileage maps of parks and other areas around the Valley where you can
collect your marathon miles. T-Shirt included when you complete the program. Pre-registration is required.

Day Hiking Club


If you are interested in getting together with other day hikers to explore the surrounding hiking trails and
pathways, Day Hiking Club will have an organizational meeting on Wednesday, March 7 at the Lewiston
Community Center at 7pm. Anyone who would like to do some hiking and would like to do it with others is
encouraged to attend this meeting. Hiking Club will meet the 1st Wednesday of every month March-September.
