FIRE PREVENTION WEEK   

Fire Prevention Week is held each fall.   Spanner the Clown and Firefighter Jeff present a Fire Safety Assembly at each public and private school.  The Fire Department is presenting this program to emphasize the need to team up with family members to develop and practice a home escape plan, install and maintain smoke alarms, and follow general fire prevention around the house.   

We urge parents and children to develop a fire escape plan and continue to practice the plan throughout the year.   We also urge people to change smoke alarm batteries during Fire Prevention Week and to replace smoke alarms if they are over 10 years old.  Also test smoke alarms monthly.
