Legecy Tree Program

Living Memorials

The City of Lewiston plants Legacy trees to acknowledge service of its long time employees upon their retirement. The public is invited to purchase Legacy Trees as a living memorial to commemorate a person or event in their lives. Legacy Trees are planted in city parks, at city owned buildings, and at Normal Hill Cemetery.

You may want to purchase a Legacy Tree:

    · to celebrate the life of a friend, relative, or teacher

    · to commemorate a birth.

    · in memory of a baptism or confirmation.

    · to honor a graduate.

    · to celebrate a wedding or an anniversary.

    · to honor a member of a club, sorority, or organization

    · or for any special occasion.

An attempt is made in the selection of the tree species or, the planting site to reflect the essence or interest of the person or event being honored. Long range plans of the area proposed and site suitability of species will be considered.

A $250 investment in the Legacy Tree Program includes the cost of the tree, a granite plaque, planting the tree, and guarantees the tree and plaque into perpetuity.

To dedicate a tree, fill out the form and return to the urban forester.  Leave unknown lines blank.
