Would you like to run for Lewiston City Council?
Lewiston's general election will be held on Tuesday, November 3, 2015, on which day the polls will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.  The election is held for the purpose of electing three (3) councilmembers for terms of four (4) years.  Candidates for city elected office are required to file a Declaration of Candidacy specifying the office sought and affirming that the individual is a qualified city elector, meaning:  at least 18 years of age, a U.S. citizens, the candidate's primary residence must be within the city, the address of the candidate's voter registration must match the residence address provided on the candidate's declaration, and the candidate must have resided within the city for at least 30 days prior to submitting their declaration.  The Declaration of Candidacy must be accompanied by: (1) a non-refundable filing fee of $40, OR (2) a Petition of Candidacy signed by at least five qualified city electors with the signatures verified by the county clerk's office.  The filing period for Declarations of Candidacy to the city clerk's office opens Monday, August 24, 2015, at 8:00 a.m. and closes Friday, September 4, 2015, at 5:00 p.m.  Declarations of Candidacy are available at City Hall in the office of the City Clerk at 1134 "F" Street, Lewiston, Idaho, from the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. 

Packets for running for City Council will be ready and available to pick up on Thursday morning, August 13th, at 8:00 a.m.
