In 2004 Lewiston acquired over 150 acres of property in the Orchards for a future Community Park through a grant from the federal Land and Water Conservation Fund. Baseball fields, tennis courts, soccer fields, an amphitheatre and many other recreation facilities are planned at this location area north of Warner Avenue as funding is found.

Today many neighbors of this new park are enjoying the paved walking path that winds north along a canyon rim on the headwaters of Lindsey Creek and a path way connecting the parking lot with the intersection of 10th and Park Avenue. Paths, parking lot, trees and irrigation have been funded with several grants from Idaho State Parks and Recreation, the Idaho Department of Transportation, and a significant donation from Potlatch No.1 Federal Credit Union.

Community Park has:

-          2.5 miles of walking path and sidewalk

-          10 – Stall parking lot

-          Portable toilet

-          Picnic tables
