Police Chief Steven Orr
It is my pleasure to welcome you to the Lewiston Police
Department's website where you can learn about the many programs and services
that we offer residents and visitors. The site is user friendly, convenient, and
contains a wealth of information. The Lewiston Police Department continues to
seek new methods to communicate with the citizens and visitors of our community.
Your police department employs 45 sworn officers and 21
civilians. LPD is responsible for providing law enforcement services to over
32,000 citizens of the City of Lewiston as well as nearly 150,000 visitors
enjoying the recreational and business opportunities of our community. LPD
employees are professionals who are committed to providing the highest levels of
effective, courteous and integrity-based service and protection to all.
The Lewiston Police Department is dedicated to community participation in
reducing crime. We work in close partnership with neighborhood associations,
community agencies, businesses, and other City departments. These partnerships
have been and will continue to be the key in reducing crime and enhancing the
quality of life in our city.
The Lewiston Police Department has received the Federal
Law Enforcement Training Center’s Award of Excellence and is fully accredited by
the Idaho Chiefs of Police Association. The members of LPD have established a
reputation for delivering courteous and professional law enforcement services to
the citizens and visitors of the City of Lewiston.
