State Of Idaho Sex Offender Information State Of Idaho Sex Offender Search State Of Idaho Violent Sexual Predators The Lewiston Police Department will assist interested parties in obtaining information on registered members of the program within our community. If the following information does not address your concerns or questions, please contact the Lewiston police Department Community Programs Officer Monte Renzelman, at 746-0171 or mrenzelman@cityoflewiston.org. He can provide information on Idaho's Sex Offender Registries Program or assist you in providing safety tips. The intent of the Idaho Legislative body and the Lewiston Police Department is that the Sexual Registration Program is a public safety program, not a punitive or correctional program. Sexual offenders present a significant risk of re-offending. Providing public access to certain information about convicted sexual offenders assists parents in the protection of their children. Such access further provides a means for organizations that work with youth or other vulnerable populations, to prevent sexual offenders from threatening those served by the organization. Please consider the following limitations when using information from the Idaho Sex Offender Registry. The registry does not contain information on all sex offenders. The information is limited by the effective date of the registries (adult: 1993; juveniles: 1998) and to those offenders who have been convicted or otherwise adjudicated of a crime specified in the registry laws. The registry does not contain information on those individuals whose sexually violent behavior has not resulted in a criminal conviction. You are cautioned that the information provided is date sensitive and only reflects that which has been received and subsequently automated by the Idaho State Police. The Lewiston Police Department offers the following service in reference to the Idaho Sexual Offender Registries Program: 1. By Idaho law, the Idaho State Police is the legal authority of the program and make rules to implement the sex offender central registries. 2. Any person may inquire on a named person (date of birth required) or geographic area (by zip code or county) by accessing the Idaho State Police Sex Offender Search site. This method of searching the database is free of charge. If you do not have internet service you may look into this service at your local library. 3. Any person may obtain information from the Idaho State Sex Offender database by mailing a completed Request for Information Form to the address listed on the form. There is a $5 fee for each inquiry by mail or in writing (Schools and non-profit organizations working with youth, women, or other vulnerable population are exempt from payment of the fees) and a picture may be requested by filling out an additional form and paying an additional fee. The form can be obtained on this site from the Lewiston Police Department, 1224 F Street, Lewiston, ID 83501, (208) 746-0171, the Nez Perce County Sheriff Department, 1221 F Street, Lewiston, Id 83501, (208) 799-3131, or the Idaho State Police, P.O.
