Residential Yard Waste Collection
Spring
and Summer Collection
Beginning
THE LAST FULL WEEK OF MARCH and continuing through the month of November,
Yard Waste collection will be on a weekly schedule,
the same day as garbage collection.
Fall and Winter Collection
Beginning in
December and continuing into March, yard waste will be
collected one time per month on garbage collection day in
the first full calendar week of each month. Plastic bags
used as containers will only be accepted November through
March.
December
2007 – Same day as garbage collection, Dec. 3-7
January
2008 – Same day as garbage collection, Jan. 7-11
February
2008 – Same day as garbage collection, Feb. 4 - 8
March
2008 - Same day as garbage collection, Mar. 3 - 7
March
2008 - Same day as garbage collection, Mar. 24 - 28
REGULAR WEEKLY SERVICE RESUMES THE
LAST
FULL CALENDAR WEEK OF MARCH THROUGH NOVEMBER – One time per week on garbage
collection day.
Here's how it works:
Who
- City of Lewiston residents (no commercial waste).
When
-
By 7:00 a.m. on your trash collection day.
Where
- Next to your trash cart.
What
-
Grass clippings, leaves, tree and shrub trimmings, Christmas
trees, hay, straw, garden waste, non-cedar lawn and garden
bark.
Yard waste
should be placed in 20 - 32 gallon metal or plastic
containers next to your trash cart (Kraft paper bags rated
at 50 pounds wet strength are accepted). Plastic bag use
is acceptable November through March only. Bundles of
trimmings tied with string or twine and not exceeding 2
inches in diameter and 4 feet in length are also accepted.
Restricted
materials include: sod, dirt, roots with dirt, noxious
weeds and tree limbs larger that 6" in diameter or longer
than 6'.
