On August 15, 2022, the Lewiston City Council voted to create a subcommittee, consisting of three (3) City Councilors, to focus on the topic of homelessness in the Lewis-Clark Valley.
As this is a special appointed subcommittee, regular meeting dates and times have not yet been established. Meetings are Livestreamed and can be watched at https://livestream.com/accounts/11220190 under City Events/Miscellaneous Events.
On August 1, 2022, City Council directed Community Development staff to mail letters to property owners, located in the C4, C6, M1 and M2 zones, that would inquire if they would be interested in using their location for a homeless shelter. The results of the letter campaign were provided at the September 6, 2022 Special Council meeting.
