1. How do I report overgrown weeds?

For overgrown weeds that are on private property or blocking the right-of-way, please contact Lewiston Police Department - Code Enforcement with the location and description of the issue.

2. How do I report city street, alley, crosswalk, and traffic issues?

All issues with City streets, alleys, road shoulders, potholes/sinkholes, and traffic lights should be reported to Public Works with the location of the problem and the reason for the request.

3. Who do I contact with animal control concerns?

Lewiston Police Department - Animal Control will respond to most animal issues including:

• Reports of animal abuse
• Barking dogs
• Stray dogs
• Dangerous animals

To report or inquire about missing pets, please contact the Lewis Clark Animal Shelter.

4. How do I pay or dispute a parking ticket?

Parking tickets can be paid in person at City Hall at the Customer Service/Utility Billing desk or over the phone with a credit card by calling 208-746-3671 ext. 0.

If you would like to dispute a parking ticket, please fill out the Parking Ticket Dispute form.

5. How do I make a public records request?

Requests for public records can be made through NextRequest.

6. How do I report Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA) issues or concerns?

For ADA issues with streets, traffic, and sidewalks, please contact Public Works.

7. How do I report an abandoned/junk/inoperable vehicle?

Please contact the Lewiston Police Department Code Enforcement at 208-746-0171 and provide the exact location, describe the vehicle make/model/color/type, license plate if visible, and explain why you think it is abandoned (broken windows, damaged, flat tires, been there two weeks, weeds growing around it, etc.).

8. How do I report an RV/Travel Trailer issue?

City Code Sec. 35-76.1. Temporary parking of unoccupied manufactured homes or recreational vehicles shall be permitted on streets, alleys, or highways within the city for not more than seventy-two (72) hours subject to any other and further prohibitions, regulations or ordinances for that street, alley or highway; provided, however, that no water or sanitary facilities are used in any manufactured home or recreational vehicle so parked. 

Please contact Police Department - Code Enforcement to report RV/Travel Trailer issues and include the location of the RV, description of the RV and license # if available.

9. How do I report a street light that is out?

Please report street light issues to Avista Utilities.

10. How do I report suspected drug/narcotics activity?

If this problem is happening now and is urgent, please contact the Police Department at 208-746-0171.

If you just want to advise about ongoing activity, you can either contact the Police Department or fill out and submit the online Citizen Report Form.

11. How do I report issues with water service?

Please contact Public Works for all issues with City water including:

• No water
• Low water pressure
• Water inside of your meterbox
• Discolored tap water

The City of Lewiston does not provide water service for all homes in Lewiston.  If you are a Lewiston Orchards Irrigation District (LOID) customer, you will need to contact them for assistance.

12. Where do I go to ask questions about or pay my utility bill?

The Utility Billing page has contact information as well as a list of ways to pay your bill including Online Bill Pay.

13. How do I report broken/damaged playground equipment?

Please contact Parks & Recreation with the park/field name and a description of the equipment and what the problem is.

14. How do I report concerns with buildings or unsafe structures?

Please contact Community Development - Building Services with the building address and a description of the concern.

15. Where do I report issues with the Cemetery?

Please contact Parks & Recreation - Cemetery to report your issue.

17. How do I report a fallen branches or other tree issues?

The City of Lewiston only picks up branches that have fallen onto City streets.  If a branch is on your property, it is your responsibility to remove and dispose of it.  

To report a branch/tree on a City street, please contact Public Works.

If you have general questions about trees or issues with trees at City Parks, contact Parks & Recreation - Urban Forestry.

18. Who do I contact about a broken garbage/recycling/yard waste cart?

20. How can I request an ambulance for standby at a location or event?

Please contact the Fire Department to provide details or fill out this form to make an electronic request.

21. How do I request a fire extinguisher class or other safety education?

Services are not available during the month of October or the 1st week of all other months.

Requests must be made with at least 1 week of advanced notice.

Services are available Monday-Friday from 9:00am to 4:00pm

22. How do I request juvenile firesetter counseling?

24. How do I request a tour of the Police or Fire department?

To request a police station tour, please contact the Police Department and provide the name of your group and the date you would like to tour.

25. How do I report a missing or damaged traffic sign?

Please contact Public Works to report issues with traffic signs.

26. How do I make a street sweeping request?

Please contact Public Works with the location of your request and the type of debris that needs cleaned up.

General street sweeping is on an as needed bases as determined by the Department and therefor no year round schedule exists. The Department does provide a once a year schedule, it can be found on the City’s website.

27. How do I report clogged storm drains and other related issues?

Please contact Public Works with all issues and questions related to storm drains.
