  3. 2 Day Writer Workshop with Local Author Laurel Gale

    July 15, 2021, 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM @ Library Event Space

    REGISTRATION REQUIRED: Registration will open on June 1. Intended for ages 8 - 12. In session one, Laurel will discuss the characters, themes, and magic systems of her book Story Magic. Session 2 will be a look at Story Magic and the writing process. Students will learn about the three key steps in writing: planning, drafting, & revision. Registered participants can pick up a copy of Story Magic at the library 3 weeks before the workshop.

  4. Six Pack S.T.E.M. Week (SESSION FULL)

    REGISTRATION REQUIRED: Registration will open on June 21st and includes all 6 days! Intended for ages 8 - 10. Six Pack S.T.E.M. Week is a six-day STEM program introducing kids to the fundamentals of technology and computer science. For one hour each day, students will take a journey through the STEM concepts and structures associated with computers and computer use in our everyday lives. Participants will learn the basics of code through Braille and Morse code, observe how electricity works and its role in binary code, build their own circuits and telegraph machines, identify the guts of a computer, and design their own computer algorithms. They will also be introduced to associated STEM jobs and career paths, with a focus on those available in our local community.
