10/31/2018 - Participatory Budgeting Events - Nov. 8th and 13th
City Manager Alan Nygaard would like to invite the community to an open forum where you will have the opportunity to learn about and give your input on the City’s budget.

“We’re working on building the next budget to present to the Lewiston City Council, and we need your help,” City Manager Alan Nygaard said.

There’ll be multiple stations which will display specific goals and strategies that have been identified by staff through their DRAFT Strategic Plans. Strategic plans will be used to identify items for the 2020-2021 budget. Everyone will have roughly one hour to visit all stations, then you will be asked for feedback through open dialog and a digital survey.

“Often we hear that citizens feel like they didn’t have the opportunity to participate in the creation of the budget. Outside of regular public hearings, this is another great opportunity for everyone to do just that.” Councilor Cari Miller.

There are two opportunities for you to participate in the City of Lewiston budget process through these open forums:

The first event will be held at the Lewiston Community Center, 1424 Main St., Lewiston, Idaho 83501 on Thursday, November 8, 2018. Doors will open at 6:15 p.m., and the rotation will begin at 6:30 p.m.

The second event will be held at Crosspoint Alliance Church, 1330 Powers Ave., Lewiston, Idaho 83501, on Tuesday, November 13, 2018. Doors will open at 6:15 p.m., and the rotation will begin at 6:30 p.m.

“We want to hear from you regarding where you’d like to see the City allocate resources,” Mayor Pro Tem Kathy Schroeder said. “Your input is a crucial part of the budgeting process.”

City Council members will be in attendance capturing feedback at stations and having open discussions with citizens.

Snacks and refreshments will be provided.
